The Atlanta Hawks and the New Orleans Pelicans have ended trade talks centered on point guard Dejounte Murray, who has been a hot name in trade rumors the last few weeks, according to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes.
It is believed that talks hit a hurdle concerning a 15% trade kicker in Murray’s contract that he was unlikely to waive in an effort to facilitate a deal, according to Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto.
Atlanta as eyeing a return of two first-round picks in exchange for Murray, but the report indicates that teams that have bene rumored to be interested in a potential trade for Murray were not willing to offer more than one first rounder.
Despite interest from other teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, and the New York Knicks, it is believed that Murray will remain with the Hawks for the remainder of the season, and could revisit trade talks over the summer.
