The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to acquire veteran forward Gordon Hayward from the Charlotte Hornets in a trade ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Hayward’s current deal includes a 15% trade bonus that will see his salary go from $31.5 million to $33.3 million as a result of the deal which would put the Thunder into luxury tax territory unless Hayward opts to waive part of the bonus, according to Hoops Hype.
As part of the deal, the Hornets will receive Tre Mann and Davis Bertans, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hayward, 33, has been limited to just 25 games this season but is averaging 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
