The New York Mets are back shopping on the free agent market following the collapse of their deal with superstar shortstop Carlos Correa, who ended up inking a deal to return to the Minnesota Twins.
According to the New York Post, the Mets are interested in veteran outfielder Andrew McCutchen to add depth to an outfield that includes Marte, Brandon Nimmo, and Mark Canha on the current roster.
McCutchen has been linked to the Los Angeles Dodgers throughout the offseason, but no deal has come to fruition as of yet between Los Angeles and the former National League MVP and five-time All-Star.
McCutchen hit 237/.316/.384 with a .700 OPS and 17 home runs in 134 games for the Milwaukee Brewers last season.
