The San Francisco 49ers are looking to trade veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and ensuring that they simply don’t unload Garoppolo without getting fair compensation in return, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
Per the report, the 49ers are willing to wait until at least roster cut-down day to move the veteran signal caller so they can ensure they are getting maximum value in any trade move. There doesn’t seem to be a perfect trade partner for Garoppolo at the current time.
Teams to watch include the Atlanta Falcons and the Pittsburgh Steelers who both are currently looking to backup quarterbacks to lock down their respective starting gigs.
