Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is reportedly being evaluated for a right elbow injury to the ulnar collateral ligament and related nerves and his status for the Bills upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings is unclear, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.
“We’re just going through it, still evaluating it, and we’ll see where it goes,” Bills head coach Sean McDermott said on Monday. “I’ll know more in the next 24 hours and then probably be able to check in with [the media] back on Wednesday.”
Allen suffered the injury during the Bills shocking loss to the New York Jets on Sunday when Jets defensive lineman Bryce Huff hit Allen’s throwing arm when Allen was sacked, which resulted in a fumble that was recovered by the Bills.
“There’s some slight pain,” Allen said after the game. “But we’ll get through it.”
Allen showed now signs of major injury, as during the final offensive play of the game for the Bills he slung a 69.3 yard in the air pass that was intended for Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis, according to NFL NextGen Stats.
Allen finished the game against the Jets completing 18-of-34 passes (52.9%) for 205 yards with two interceptions to go along with nine carries for 86 yards and two scores.
Case Keenum is the Bills backup quarterback.
