Despite the poor start to the season where they have posted a brutal 2-5 record and haven’t looked like a playoff contender, Jimmy Butler believes that his Miami Heat can win the NBA Championship when it is all said and done.
“We’re still going to win the championship, and I don’t care what nobody says,” Butler said, according to Sam Amick of the Athletic. “Count us out. We’re going to win the fucking championship. I’m telling you. I don’t give a damn that we started 2-5…We’ve got time, man. We’ve just got to play with a little bit more urgency and realize how fragile this thing is, trust in one another and play basketball the right way on both sides of the ball. There’s a lot of good things, so I don’t get discouraged.”
Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro have all played well, but Kyle Lowry is one player that needs to step up.
The Heat have been linked to a trade for Phoenix Suns’ Jae Crowder, who is currently away from the team as he seeks a trade, so it is very likely that the Heat will need to bring some more players in to boost their roster.
