With the Chicago Blackhawks in a full-scale rebuild, there had been chatter that superstar winger Patrick Kane, who has been a long-time fixture with the organization, would be on the move as part of their process.
However, despite the team going this route, Kane isn’t interested in being dealt this offseason, according to Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravilli. In a likelihood, if a Kane trade were to take place, it appears that it would likely happen around the trade deadline.
Dealing Kane may prove problematic, especially when factoring in his contract, which makes a deal around the trade deadline, as opposed to now, much easier to digest as three-quarters of his $10.5 million will have been paid off.
Kane has full control over where he lands, but appears to be staying put in Chicago for at least the immediate future.
