Following a convincing win over the Los Angeles Chargers, the Jacksonville Jaguars are demanding the respect from the league as head coach Doug Pederson is executing an impressive turnaround following the abysmal tenure of Urban Meyer.
Now, quarterback Trevor Lawrence is letting everyone know they are legit.
“Obviously, the way we’ve played, you can’t deny that we are a really good team,” Lawrence said, according to Pro Football Talk. “But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what they say about us. We know who we are. Our only goal on Sunday is to win the game. And the way people think about us, it doesn’t really matter. Every week we are going to prepare the same way. We’re going to be ready to play. We have a bunch of competitors, so it’s been a lot of fun.”
Jacksonville is now 2-1 this season with decisive wins over the Chargers and the Indianapolis Colts, and Lawrence’s development is front and center.
