UCLA is set to hire former Bruins running back, and former NFL running back, DeShaun Foster as their next head coach following Chip Kelly’s decision to take the offensive coordinator job at Ohio State.
According to ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel, “Sources: UCLA is set to hire DeShaun Foster as the school’s next head coach. He’s is in the UCLA Hall of Fame as a player, worked as an assistant coach there since 2017 and played seven seasons in the NFL.”
Foster recently joined the Las Vegas Raiders staff as running backs coach, but only stayed there for one week.
Foster will be a first time head coach, but was the running backs’ coach at Texas Tech, and would come to UCLA to serve in the same role under Kelly’s staff.
