The San Diego Padres just bolstered their bullpen by acquiring star reliever Josh Hader from the Milwaukee Brewers, who currently leads the majors in saves this season, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Hader made his fourth All-Star team this season, and is being sent to San Diego in exchange for Taylor Rogers, who is ranked second in saves this season. The Brewers are also receiving lefty pitching prospect Robert Gasser, outfielder Esteury Ruiz and right-hander Dinelson Lamet as part of the deal.
Hader will be a free agent following the 2023 season.
