The NHL Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers have agreed to terms with veteran center Sam Reinhart on an eight-year, $69 million contract according to multiple reports and confirmed by ESPN on Monday.
Reinhart, who missed the team’s championship parade in South Florida on Sunday because he was attending his best friend’s wedding, scored the game winner in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final and the new contract got done Sunday night, which was critical because it kept Reinhart from reaching unrestricted free agency and also allowed the Panthers to give him the eight-year agreement.
Reinhart scored a Panthers-record 67 goals this past season, including 10 in the playoffs and now joins the Panthers in defending the Stanley Cup next season.
