Golden State Warriors superstar Klay Thompson had himself a game on Monday night, dropping 12 three pointers and pouring in 42 points on just 22 shots to put in one of the league’s most efficient scoring performances in recent years.
Thompson’s performance fueled a 141-114 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“We feed off Klay all the time, but in particular on a night like tonight where we’re down early and giving up a lot of points. I thought OKC really came out and hit us in the mouth right away,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said following the game, via ESPN.
“It was a beautiful game to watch him play,” Warriors forward Draymond Green said of Thompson.
“… We needed it. It’s been a while since we had a blowout win. It’s good to get this one, especially first game with Steph out. It was good to start off on this foot and try to create some momentum.”
“This is a confidence booster for sure to play without him, but to see the performance of the team, amazing individual performances we got,” coach Steve Kerr said. “It was a feel-good game for a lot of people and that just really fuels everybody. Hopefully we can keep that going.”
