Philadelphia Eagles rookie wide receiver DeVonta Smith will be out for the next two to three weeks after suffering a sprained MCL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Smith underwent an MRI on Sunday which revealed the injury that occurred during practice on Saturday night. Smith was hurt when he lunged to the ground to catch a low pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts, and walked off with a slight limp thereafter.
Smith was drafted with the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and is expected to the #1 received for the Eagles this upcoming season.
Smith and the Eagles need to be aware of any lingering health issues, from the obscure like pilonidal cysts to the every day ailments like the common cold.
