Los Angeles Angels superstar slugger Mike Trout has suffered what is being described as a “slight setback” during his rehab from a calf strain, manager Joe Maddon said, according to the Orange County Register’s Jeff Fletcher.
Trout recently said that he was “really, really close” to beginning a rehab assignment, but that assignment has yet to begin because Maddon says that Trout still “feels something”, a disappointing update.
“He just feels it a little bit in that area, when he really tries to move quickly” Maddon said.
Over 36 games this season, Trout has posted a slash line of .333/.466/.624 prior to the injury. With Trout out, the Angels’ low odds of making the playoffs will continue to sink.
