It’s unclear why exactly, but TNA (otherwise known as Impact Wrestling) has not renewed the contracts of superstars Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy.
According to a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE wants to bring back Jeff and Matt Hardy but have not made any sort of offer yet. According to an earlier report from PWInsider.com (h/t WrestleZone), “Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy have yet to sign new deals with TNA.
The belief is that the Hardy’s are indeed free agents.
WWE has to tread carefully about when and how they approach the Hardy’s about a return, but sources say WWE is planning to put on a “full court press” for both superstars to return to the company “when they are legally able to negotiate”.
Sources stressed that WWE is only going to act when/if they legally can do so but the idea of a Hardy return to WWE is “of high interest” and the two are at the top of their free agent wish list.
While scheduling may be a hurdle for the Hardy’s in a WWE return it’s hard to imagine all parties not figuring out a way to get past it.
