Should the Miami Heat miss out on signing Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in free agency, they will turn their attention to Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Jackson’s report states that the “odds are strong” the Heat will bring in another star by the start of the 2021-2022 regular season.
Fox is eligible for an extension this offseason and is eligible for a max contract extension with the Kings.
According to The Athletic’s Jason Jones and Sam Vecenie, the Kings selection of Tyrese Haliburton in the 2020 NBA Draft last night, it “is actually a commitment to Fox that the team is committed to a style of play that will allow him to flourish.”
Miami is still looking at adding Giannis Antetokounmpo should he hit free agency next season.
