Broncos’ Trevor Siemian Lays Claim To Starting Quarterback Job

2 Min Read

Even if Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph hasn’t made a formal decision, although no official announcement has been made and despite concrete evidence to support it by fact, the Broncos quarterback battle is over.

That is, according to Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian who believes that he has won the starting quarterback gig.

“I think so. I’m not the coach, but I think so” Siemian said.

Both Siemian and Paxton Lynch have played heavily throughout the preseason as Joseph tries to determine which will be his starter moving forward.

Both quarterbacks have made their fair share of plays, especially on Saturday during their preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers.

“I saw Paxton make some plays with his legs, which he should,” Joseph said of the game.

“He’s an athlete. And Trevor, he was solid. He was Trevor. He made good decisions, his ball placement was on point tonight, he controlled the huddle. So I was pleased with Trevor.”

The Broncos will likely tote both quarterbacks out for their 3rd preseason game, next week against the Green Bay Packers, as one last chance for Siemian and Lynch to make their case.

But as far as a decision being made right now….

“I’m not sure, once we watch this tape and see where we are with that,” Joseph said on KUSA.

“Our time frame is not important, but getting it right is.”

At least Siemian is confident in what he has done for the team and Denver, regardless of who wins the competition, will have 2 quarterbacks that they can lean on moving forward.

In the NFL that is a very valuable thing.
