The New York Knicks plan to have contract-extension discussions with star forward Julius Randle during the upcoming offseason, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
Randle, 26, has had a breakout season with the Knicks, averaging 24.1 points per game while adding 10.2 rebounds. Randle’s efforts earned his his first All-Star selection and has fueled a resurgent season for the Knicks, who are battling it out for the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference as the regular season winds down.
Randle signed a three-year deal back in July of 2019, and a new contract can add four years, but would limit his total starting salary. If Randle were to ink a max four-year extension, it couldbe worth up to $106.44 million.
Despite the big number, Randle could be in line to earn even more if he were to hit the free agent market.
