The Philadelphia Eagles have already begun their search for their next head coach following the firing of Doug Pederson on Monday.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Ed Kracz, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman reached out to Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley about becoming the Eagles next head coach. Roseman reportedly made the call not long after the team dismissed Pederson.
Riley has been one of the most mentioned names among college coaches connected with NFL head coaching jobs, and served as the team’s offensive coordinator prior to becoming the head coach at Oklahoma in 2017.
Riley has coached the likes of Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, and with the Eagles situation at quarterback, Riley would be an interesting fit.
