The San Francisco 49ers may be ready to move on from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and could be one of the teams in the mix to acquire Houston Texans superstar quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Where Garoppolo plays next season seems to be a bit unclear, but 49ers star tight end George Kittle believes that if Garoppolo remains with the team they are capable of winning a Super Bowl championship.
“I still believe in Jimmy G” Kittle said, according to Fox Sports’ Peter Shrager. “I think we can win a Super Bowl with him. I think he’s a fantastic quarterback.”
While the 49ers have stated their intentions to keep Garoppolo, the chance to obtain a elite young quarterback such as Watson could be too good of an opportunity to pass up this offseason, leaving Garoppolo’s status up in the air for the time being.
