Brooklyn Nets superstar forward Kevin Durant is expected to miss approximately a month due to an MCL sprain, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Nets announced Monday that Durant was diagnosed with an isolated MCL sprain of his right knee and will be reevaluated in two weeks. Durant was out for six weeks with an left MCL sprain last January, but the team believes that this injury is less severe and won’t have Durant out for more than four weeks.
Durant suffered the injury during the third quarter of the Nets 102-101 victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday night when Heat superstar Jimmy Butler fell back into Durant’s knee following having his shot blocked by Nets big man Ben Simmons.
Durant is averaging 30 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists for the Nets this season.
