The San Antonio Spurs continue to be interested in Los Angeles Lakers All-Star guard Russell Westbrook and seem to remain willing to absorb Westbrook’s exorbitant $47 million deal to stock up on draft picks, according to SpursTalk’s LJ Ellis.
The Spurs were engaged in serious talks with the Lakers regarding Westbrook earlier in the offseason, but the talks flatlined as the Lakers preferred focusing on potential trade partners such as the Utah Jazz and the Indiana Pacers.
Now, with training camp set to ion on September 27th, the Spurs continue their interest in Westbrook’s expiring contract.
