The Los Angeles Lakers may be looking to make a big move on the trade market this season, but it won’t be all about them bringing in premier talent, instead it appears that one of their superstars may be available via trade.
According to Bill Simmons on his podcast, there is ‘buzz’ around the league about Lakers bigman Anthony Davis being available via trade. Davis has struggled mightily this season, and the team may be looking to part ways (via Kevin O’ Connor).
“So, the Lakers lost again today (Sunday),” Simmons said. “There’s some buzz, some buzzing that AD (Anthony Davis) might be available. That that’s a Plan B. Because the Westbrook trade, or whatever they think they can get for Westbrook and whether you want to give up future assets, maybe that doesn’t even make sense because what are you getting if you’re the Lakers?”
Davis was a name fans may not have expected to see, as the name rumored to be on the move has been Russell Westbrook all season, but his improved play in the sixth man role has Westbrook entrenched in the lineup, for now.
