The future of Pittsburgh Steelers longtime quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is seemingly up in the air as the team will have to address some financial restrictions heading into the league’s upcoming offseason.
Roethlisberger currently carries a $41.25 million cap hit next season, but has said that he is willing to take a pay cut to help them team financially.
“As we sit here today, Ben is a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said, via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor. “He reiterated to us that he wants to continue to play. We told him we have to look at this current situation.”
It’s hard to imagine the Steelers moving on from Roethlisberger this offseason, so the two sides are likely to work out something for the future.
