The Tennessee Titans have reached an agreement with running back Derrick Henry on a four-year, $50 million deal that included $25.5 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Titans had franchise tagged Henry earlier this offseason, and worked out a deal with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, another key player, to keep him long-term.
Now, Henry will be in the fold long-term.
Henry’s new deal averages $12.5 annually which makes him the league’s fifth highest paid running back. The new deal came after reports circulated that a new deal would not be reached by Wednesday’s deadline.
“Appreciate everybody for all the love today & the fans through the whole process,” Henry posted on his official Instagram page.
Henry rushed for 1,540 yards last season, winning the rushing title along the way, and has posted consecutive seasons where he has surpassed the 1,000 yard rushing mark.
Henry led the league with a 5.1 yards per carry mark in 2019.
Henry was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
