New York Giants franchise running back Saquon Barkley continues to be vague about his playing status for the regular season opener later this year as he continues to rehab from the ACL injury that ended his 2020 season.
Barkley says that he is not sure if he will be ready to play by Week 1 when the Giants take on the Denver Broncos.
“I don’t know. We’ll see,” Barkley said, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. “Taking it day by day. Just listening to my body. Whenever I’m able to get out there, just make sure I’m 110 percent. Not just for … my well-being, but just so I go out there and compete at a high level and show the world who Saquon is.”
Barkley will be critical to the Giants success this upcoming season, and is a major part of their offensive system, so having him back in the fold when the season kicks off is the top priority for the Giants this summer.
