Kansas City Royals right-hander Chance Adams has undergone Tommy John surgery, reportedly doing so last month, according to MLB.com’s Jeffrey Flanagan.
Despite not being officially announced by the organization, the expectation is that Adams will miss the entire 2021 season as he recovers.
Adams, 26, was traded to the Yankees last season when the Yanks inked Gerrit Cole to his record-setting contract. Adams was designated for assignment before being dealt to Kansas City.
Adams was hit hard during his short stint last season in Kansas City, posting a 9.35 ERA over 6 games last season.
