The Cleveland Browns entered the offseason season seemingly set at quarterback with Baker Mayfield, until they got into the mix for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, and now they may not have Mayfield under center moving forward.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, Mayfield has formally asked the organization for a trade. It is worth noting that Mayfield requested a trade, and it is a bit different from a trade demand.
Complicating the drama even further, the Browns are reportedly not going to accommodate Mayfield’s request, according to ESPN’s Jake Trotter.
Mayfield, 26, finished the 2021 season throwing for 3,010 passing yards and 17 touchdowns against 13 interceptions, raising concerns about his future as the Browns starting quarterback.
