The Seattle Mariners are looking to bolster their bullpen this offseason and are interested in free agent reliever Joakim Soria, according to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi.
Soria has drawn interest from the Minnesota Twins, the Toronto Blue Jays, the Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, and Oakland Athletics this offseason.
Soria, 36, posted a strong 2.82 ERA over 22 1/3 innings for the Athletics last season, doing a good job at keeping the ball in the park, allowing only one homerun, while limiting the hard contact as well, based on his barrel percentage.
Adding Soria would be another step in the Mariners’ efforts to fortify their bullpen this offseason, having already acquired Rafael Montero from the Texas Rangers, signed Keynan Middleton, and re-signed Kendall Graveman.
