The Atlanta Hawks will have plenty of competition for forward John Collins who is set to enter restricted free agency this summer, with the belief that his strong performance in the NBA Finals could garner him a max contract.
According to The Athletics’ Shams Charania, Collins is expected to draw interest from teams such as the Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and San Antonio Spurs, among others. There is a belief that Collins can be had, even as a restricted free agent.
Teams can sign Collins to an offer sheet that the Hawks would have to match in order to keep their young big man, so a bidding war could very likely be on the horizon that could see several teams in play.
