The Minnesota Vikings and running back Dalvin Cook are “not close” to a contract extension, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
The Vikings tables contract talks back in mid-August, but the franchise is looking to work out a new contract with Cook prior to the 2020 season kicking off.
Despite their intentions, the two sides are considered to be far apart in their negotiations.
Cook, 25, has been angling for a new contract for quite some time, and even conducted a “holdout” or sorts earlier this year in an effort to get a new deal done.
