It appears the tide is turning in negotiations in favor of a resolution that will keep Von Miller in a Denver Broncos uniform for the long term. The on again, off again talks between representative for Miller and the Broncos front office is apparently “on” yet again and, this time, is heading towards a final resolution.
NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports that Denver has made “significant progress” in long-term talks with Miller and are now offering in excess of $70 million guaranteed. If a deal is indeed reached that include those numbers, or more, the $70 million guaranteed would be the most in league history for a defensive player.
Rapoport stated in his ‘RapSheet’ report that “optimism has grown for all involved,” and talks are “headed in the right direction quickly.” That is great news for the Broncos, Miller and Bronco fans who have been on pins and needles awaiting a long-term deal to be announced ahead of Friday’s deadline.
#Broncos & Von Miller spent the last week making significant progress on the 6-year, $114M offer. I’m told the guarantees now eclipse $70M.
