The New Orleans Saints are finalizing a five-year, $75 million contract extension with star running back Alvin Kamara, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Per the report, Kamara’s new deal is worth a total of $77.133 million for six seasons and includes $34.333 million in guaranteed money.
Kamara, 25, and the team have had tense negotiations late in training camp and Kamara was an unexcused absence for four days. Reports circulated that the Saints were open to the idea of trading Kamara.
However, the two sides were able to work past the hiccups and reach a positive conclusion.
