The Miami Dolphins will play their first playoff game in six years on Sunday against their division rival, and Super Bowl contender, Buffalo Bills but will have to do so without starter Tua Tagovailoa.
According ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said that Tagovailoa has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Bills as he has still not been cleared from concussion protocol and rookie Skylar Thompson will start in the Wild Card game instead.
“Dolphins’ HC Mike McDaniel ruled out Tua Tagovailoa for Sunday’s game vs. Buffalo. He still has not cleared concussion protocol.”
Tagovailloa still recovering from the head injury he sustained in Week 16 and he’s not expected to be ready to return in time for the Wild Card Round, meaning that Miami will have to hope that Thompson looks significantly better than he did against the New York Jets when the Dolphins offense barely got a win.
