The New York Yankees enter the offseason following their brutal loss to the Houston Astros, a four-game sweep during their ALCS series that saw the Yankee bats again fail during the playoffs, and now face a big task of re-signing their franchise cornerstone Aaron Judge, who is set to hit free agency.
Judge poured in a historic season that saw him belt an American League record 62 homers and is the expected winner of the American League MVP award.
According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, a Yankees executive feels “more confident” in the club’s ability to retain Judge now than he had previously, and two Yankees people volunteered that Judge’s wife Samantha Bracksieck ran the New York City Marathon on Sunday.
Judge is expected to draw interest from the San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, and Boston Red Sox among others.
