The Green Bay Packers could do nothing to stop Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts who not only hurt the Packers through the air, but ran all over their defense on the ground as he led the Eagles to a victory over Green Bay on Sunday night.
Hurts threw for two touchdowns, but added a team-high 157 yards on the ground as well, as the Eagles held off a late rally from the Packers to hold on to a 40-33 victory in Week 12 action.
“I don’t even know how to answer that question. I ran and they couldn’t get me,” Hurts said following the game, according to Fox Sports’ Ralph Vacchiano.
Hurts also expressed his admiration for Eagles’ quarterbacks from the past such as Randall Cunningham, Donovan McNabb, and Michael Vick, who all made their mark on the game on the ground as well as in the air.
“I have a ton of respect for them and their support,” Hurts said about the QBs. “They don’t even know how they’ve affected me, impacted me in my time here. It’s an understatement to say how I appreciate them, because I do. They guided me in more ways than they even know.”
Hurts set a Eagles franchise record with 157 yard rushing for a quarterback, and looks like he will not be slowing down soon as he continues to make a strong case for MVP honors this season.
