The Oakland (soon-to-be) Las Vegas Raiders have announced a new partnership with popular streaming platform Twitch that officially kicks off in 2020 when the team relocates to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Per the new partnership, Allegiant Stadium, the Raiders soon-to-be new home, will have a Twitch-branded lounge located in the lower level that features stations for Twitch streamers, Twitch viewing screens and esports competitions to boot.
“We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Twitch as the official streaming platform of the Raiders and Allegiant Stadium,” Raiders president Marc Badain said via an official press release. “The Twitch Lounge will elevate the spectator experience for Raiders fans in a brand new way—bridging the connection between fans in the stadium and at home unlike ever before.”
Allegiant Stadium is currently slated to open in August 2020 when the Raiders officially move from Oakland to Las Vegas to start their first season in the city.
“At Twitch, we are constantly looking for new ways to engage with our community online and IRL. Being a founding partner at Allegiant Stadium is a perfect opportunity for Twitch to converge our passionate gaming and live esports community with the world of traditional sports,” said Sara Clemens, Chief Operating Officer at Twitch.
The partnership will bring major viewership and exposure to some of the biggest Twitch channels on the platform, and likewise for esports teams as well.
“As part of our long-term vision for multiplayer entertainment, we are excited to elevate the spectator experience at live events in the heart of the Entertainment Capital of the world.”
