Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee and will be out indefinitely, according to an official team announcement that was issued on Tuesday morning.
Murray was hurt during Monday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors, during a non-contact play which resulted in Murray crumpling to the floor in pain while clutching his left knee and pounding the court with his hand.
Murray was hurt with 50.6 seconds to play and Denver behind 111-104, as he was trying to split two Warriors defenders on a drive to the basket. Murray hopped off the court to the locker room after refusing to be taken off the floor by a wheelchair.
It continues what has been an injury plagued season for Murray, who is averaging 21.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists for the Nuggets this season.
