New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge, who has put together a strong MVP caliber season to help fuel the Bronx Bombers to the best overall record in baseball, will be out of the lineup on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles after he was forced out of Tuesday’s game after he was hit by a pitch on the hand.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone announced that Judge would miss Wednesday’s game and is considered to be day-to-day. Judge eased concerns of a potential stint on the IL by saying his X-ray and CT scan results came back negative and that he’ll be good to go moving forward.

“It’s a big relief,” Judge said, according to the New York Post. “I’ve been hit there before, a couple years ago and broke my wrist. Any time you get hit 94 up and in, especially in the hand, you never know. There’s some swelling, but I think I’m good.”

Judge is hitting .302 with 26 home runs and 64 RBIs this season for the Yankees.

The news comes as the Yankees welcome ace Gerrit Cole back to the mound, who is making his long-awaited season debut.
