The Alabama Crimson Tide are finalizing a deal that would make former Houston Texans head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien their next offensive coordinator, according to ESPN’s Chris Low.
O’Brien has spent time with the team last week as they were preparing for the College Football Playoff National Championship game, and was also at the team complex on Wednesday.
Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban spoke about O’Brien during a news conference on Wednesday saying that
O’Brien, 51, replaces Steve Sarkisian, who recently left Alabama to take the head coaching job at Texas. O’Brien would “do a great job with our players here.”
“I’ve always tried to have the best knowledge and experience I can for our players and their development, and I certainly think [O’Brien] can contribute to that in a very positive way.”
