The San Diego Padres are contemplating a change for superstar shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. who has landed on the injured list a total of five times this season due to a nagging shoulder issue, upon his eventual return.
According to the Athletic’s Dennis Lin, the Padres have discussed moving Tatis Jr. to the outfield when he does his return in and effort to preserve his health this season. The report goes on to say that Tatis responded enthusiastically.
Tatis Jr, 22, is hitting .292 with an NL-leading 31 home runs and 70 RBI’s for the Padres this season.
