The San Diego Padres are “on the verge” of acquiring slugger Juan Soto from the Washington Nationals, according to MLB.com’s Jon Morosi.
Soto is one of the biggest names expected to be moved ahead of the MLB trade deadline and is expected to fetch quite a haul. Soto hit a home run during what is likely his final game with the Nationals, last night.
The Padres have been battling it out with the Los Angeles Dodger and other teams to acquire Soto.
