The New York Mets have acquired veteran shortstop Javier Baez from the Chicago Cubs on Friday, ahead of the MLB Trade deadline, according to SNY’s Any Martino. The trade will become official once medicals are both completed and reviewed.
According to the New York Post’s Joel Sherman, the compensation may include a pitcher.
The Mets are also exploring a deal for Baez’s teammate, Kris Bryant.
