Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins is reportedly unhappy with how the organization is positioning Trae Young as the franchise cornerstone.
Atlanta stormed out on fire to start the 2020-2021 NBA season, winning their first four of five games before tripping up with their current three-game losing streak.
According to The Athletic’s Chris Kirschner and Sam Amick, Collins isn’t too pleased with how the Hawks are positioning Young as the franchise centerpiece.
“According to three sources who were either in the session or had knowledge of what was said, Collins raised several issues about the way these Hawks were functioning with Young at the helm.”
The report goes on to say that Collins raised his concerns during Atlanta’s film session following their loss to the New York Knicks.
It’s easy to understand the Hawks positioning Young as their key cornerstone, as Young has ascended to become one of the brightest young superstars in the league.
However, despite his MVP-play, Young has issues turning the ball over, which has hurt the Hawks far too often.
