The Atlanta Braves recently pulled off a trade with the Boston Red Sox that landed them starter Chris Sale as the team bolsters their lineup for a World Series push in 2024.
Sale was obtained in exchange for heralded prospect Vaughn Grissom but the Braves feel the high cost to bring in Sale was the right move.
In fact, Braves general manager Alex Anthopolous told MLB journalists that Sale is “perfect” for the team.
The general manager said that the left-handed starter is “a perfect fit for our group”, according to the Boston Globe’s Alex Speier.
Sale pitched in 20 games in 2023 for the Red Sox posting a 6-5. record with a 4.30 ERA and a 125/29 K/BB ratio.
