The Detroit Lions are going to interview former Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff for their general manager gig, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.
Dimitroff is now the third known candidate to interview for the Lions’ general manager opening, joining former Houston Texans general manager Rick Smith and ESPN’s Louis Riddick.
Riddick has been a candidate for front office roles in the past, and may offer a new and fresh vision to a organization such as the Lions, whereas candidates such as Dimitroff have shown what they are capable of with their past work.
Dimitroff was one of the longest tenured general managers in the NFL, during his time with the Falcons, and was the architect of the team that reached the Super Bowl a few years ago.
