The Toronto Blue Jays have officially acquired veteran starter Jose Berrios from the Minnesota Twins ahead of Friday’s 4pm MLB trade deadline, according to ESPN.
Minnesota will receive prospects shortstop/outfielder Austin Martin and right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson as part of the deal, and the Twins will now move forward without the ace of their rotation.
Berrios, 27, has posted a 7-5 in 20 starts this season with a 3.48 ERA and 126 strikeouts in 121⅔ innings and will help a Blue Jays team trying to close in on one of the two American League Wild Card spots.
