The Miami Dolphins organization and owner Stephen Ross are facing some severe consequences if an investigation into allegations made by former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores are proven to be true, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
Per his report: “if the league investigation finds Ross offered Flores $100,000 for each loss during the 2019 NFL season, as Flores alleges, the discipline could be severe, up to and including Ross losing the team by a vote of fellow owners.”
Rapoport added that “owners could, in fact, vote a fellow owner out under the most dire circumstances based on league rules, which would require a three-fourths vote.”
The Dolphins, Denver Broncos, and the New York Giants were all mentioned in Flores’ lawsuit, which presents a muddy situation for the league as it tries to navigate the hefty allegations that seem to have some level of legitimacy.
