The Tampa Bay Rays are looking to be major players at the MLB Trade Deadline and are interested in acquiring a pair of stars to bolster their lineup and their rotation.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Rays are seriously considering big moves for Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer and Chicago Cubs third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant, who are likely to move at the deadline.
The Rays have traditionally not been big buyers at the deadline, but are already showing a change in ways as they have recently acquired slugger Nelson Cruz to add some home run power to their lineup, and with their deep farm system they have plenty of resources to do more.
