The Chicago White Sox have officially acquired reliever Craig Kimbrel from the Chicago Cubs ahead of Friday’s MLB trade deadline, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan. Kimbrel is the latest Cob to be traded following the trade of Anthony Rizzo to the New York Yankees on Thursday.
Kimbrel has had a bounce back year for the Cubs, pitching to the tune of a 0.49 ERA over 39 appearances.
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the Cubs will receive second baseman Nick Madrigal and reliever Codi Heuer.
